For the third year El Periódico de Catalunya & Diari Sport offer a scholarship for athletes

El Periodico de Catalunya and Diari Sport - both Catalan newspapers - will provide an athlete with a scholarship to attend the International Master of Sport Management at the Johan Cruyff Institute for Sport Studies in Barcelona.

The Master is a specialized one-year program that is aimed at current and former athletes and sports enthusiasts who wish to acquire the necessary tools to manage the business aspects of sports industry. "Our goal is that our students acquire the necessary tools so they can make their passion for sport, their profession," says Xavier Crespo, a former professional basketball player and coordinator of the Master’s program in Barcelona.

Aware of the importance of a program designed by and for sports people, Johan Cruyff founded the Institute because "in my experience, sports organizations should be run by people with a deep knowledge of sports and a heart of an athlete”.

To qualify for the scholarship, candidates may begin registering from July 3rd through the website www.elperiodico.com - "beca cruyff institute". Note that the page is in Catalan and the study program will be delivered in Spanish. The chosen applicant will be announced on September 2nd.
